Post Production
We've now managed to finish up production on Lias library, and looking back on it it's been an awesome experience. The team recently went through the post mortem report together, and through reviewing our processes, I've noticed a few takeaways that seemed to be part of what made the project go so well for us, and that I'd like to try to continue and/or replicate going forwards into future projects.
The biggest by far though, is the way the team handled project ownership and decision making. Given that each of us had an area of expertise (programming, art, level design, narrative, etc) we put a lot of emphasis on making sure we all understood what our design goals were and creating a unified vision, then we allowed each lead to make the decisions for their area.
I feel that if we'd just given the leads the amount of power over things we did without a unified vision... it could have become chaos pretty easily. But by combining the two we wound up with a team that was very unified in goal, and able to make the decisions in the moment that would push towards that goal, which I think helped a lot with how much we were able to accomplish this semester.
